A late 19th/early 20th century English rocking horse of small proportions on safety stand, probably by F H Ayres (Frederick Henry Ayres, London), the carved, gesso and painted dappled horse with pricked ears, flared nostrils and open mouth revealing teeth, inset glass eyes and remnants of real horse hair mane, the body with outstretched legs on a safety stand, raised upon a pair of turned stand pillars and mounted with shaped rectangular type brackets with three bolts, trademark side rails with pointed ends, the stand base with various stencilled marks including 'EAST LONDON RUBBER CO LTD, LONDON & MANCHESTER, 3', 85cm high, 94cm long
