An early 19th century lady's commonplace book or drawing-room album, compiled and illustrated with ink manuscript verse and prose from belles-lettres, with further friendly sentiments, and 18th century and later portrait engravings, two Abolitionist engravings (1 of Wilberforce, another a chained slave imploring on the Bible), some later 19th century Hogarth prints, etc., three later 19th century sepia photographs: Christchurch Priory, Herstmonceux Castle, and the coast, infrequent tipped-in leaves of writing embellished with in-text drawings, etc., contemporary claret morocco, elaborately tooled in gilt and blind, rounded 'ledger' spine with raised bands, 4to, [1]

The binding soiled, worn and bumped with expected losses and scuffs across the boards and spine. And so the contents are loosening if not already detached in places. The leaves are foxed and speckled in places throughout, particular their margins. Uneven toning. The contents in mixed states, fair to good.
