A pair of handsome cast iron campana urns on pedestal stands, in black and aged finish, the urns with a bold lion face medallion applied to each face of the body, the lion head well-modelled with fine detail to the mane and features, the upper rim carries an egg and dart band and the lower bowl is gadrooned, the pedestal stands each with the square cast iron pedestal bases cast to each face with laurel wreath, with ribbon tied bows above and scrolling acanthus below, fine and crisp and densely worked, the moulded cornice and base complete the composition, each urn and stand approx. 120cm high, 50cm wide, 85kg (each), the overall form is clean and classical, with the lion masks providing a strong focal point Please note that all lots in this auction are held offsite and collection would be from Windsor Classical Gardens in Datchet (SL3) and would be strictly by appointment arranged through Bamfords Auctioneers on 01332 210000.
