Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire: a collection of vellum deeds and indentures relating to mainly local transactions ranging in date from the reign of Elizabeth I to that of Queen Victoria, the five earliest being feet of fines, including: vellum deed 21 x 15in (53.4 x 38.21cm) Elizabeth I (10th June 1587) between Robert Hill of Newthorpe yeoman and Richard Plowright, yeoman, of [West] Bridgeford, Bridge Foot, both Notts.; vellum deed Charles II 28 x 20in (71.1 x 50.8cm) dated 18th May 1668 between William Wheelwright yeoman of West Hallam and Edward Vickers, yeoman of Stanley (both Derbys.) and others concerning land at Eastwood, (Notts.); vellum deed Charles II 24 x 161/2 in 51 x 41.9 cm) dated 23rd April 1684 between Robert Broughton of Elton, Hunts. and Nicholas Broughton concerning a house and land at Elton; vellum deed Queen Anne 16th April 1712 between Edward Gregory of West Hallam and Francis Handley of the same (Derbys.) and others, including John Flamsteed of Little Hallam, Gent., concerning land at West Hallam; framed vellum deed, George I, 27th July 1719 between Daniel Kirkham of St. Marey’s, parish, Nottingham and James Kirkham of Beeston, Nottinghamshire concerning land at Carcolston; also a vellum deed of two membranes 29 x 22in (73.7 x 55.9cm) being a conveyance of land in Nottingham off Derby Road between the Nottingham Committee of Freemen and George Frederick Walker, Esq., 16th November 1852 (6)

Note: John Flamsteed of Little Hallam Hall (1674-1745) was the penultimate member of this family to live at the timber framed hall at Little Hallam and was the great nephew of Revd. John Flamsteed FRS (1646-1719) first Astronomer Royal and author of Atlas Coelestis (1721) who lived at Derby.
