A 19th century French ormolu mounted kingwood cartel clock, 19cm circular dial inscribed F (Francois) Lesage, a Paris, with Roman chapter upon enamel cartouches, twin-winding holes, blued hands A D Mougin 14 day movement striking on a bell, the case crossbanded and with well figured matched veneers, C-scroll cresting, the mounts cast with scrolling acanthus, bud pendant finial, 75cm long, c.1850 Francois Lesage founded his business in the Rue Dauphine in 1814 moving to Rue Faubourg St. Martin in 1824 and continuing until the beginning of the Third Republic in 1870s.
