A Regency bronze mounted rosewood and mahogany secretaire bookcase, in the manner of George Smith (1786-1826), concave moulded cornice above a pair of shaped rectangular glazed doors and candle slides, the projecting piano-top base with removable hinged cover enclosing a sliding plateau with inset tooled and gilt leather writing surface and an arrangement of pigeon holes and small drawers, the interior and adjustable shelves locking for transport in the campaign manner, outlined throughout with bronze stringing, boldly carved leopard monopodia, in the manner of Charles Heathcote Tatham (Etchings of Ancient Ornamental Architecture in Italy) (1772-1842), 207cm high, 115cm wide, c.1815
