Signed of restoration on one cup, crack on handle of the other. Coffee pot has a crack on lid as well as a firing fault, chips to lid.

BRAMPTON is a village and parish, about 3½ miles W. from Chesterfield. At Brampton-moor are extensive stone potteries, belonging to Messrs. T. Oldfield and Co., Messrs. H. and S. Briddon and Mr. J. Wright; Mr. W. Briddon, at Walton, and others; at New Brampton, are iron works, and in the neighbourhood is a coal mine. Collectors are probably familiar with the label 'Brampton ware' as referring to the more ornate sprig decorated pieces such as puzzle jugs, toast racks, jugs, teapots and coffee pots, made from an almost white clay which gives a light honey surface in a salt firing.19th century
