A monumental Georgian style classical two-tier cast iron garden fountain, caryatid figures with lion mask pedestal, standing just under 4m high, a magnificent and large-scale classical cast iron garden fountain of exceptional quality, a true statement piece that commands the centre of any formal garden, the fountain sits on a bold octagonal pedestal with deeply cast oval lion-mask medallions to each face, a motif associated with the great classical civic foundries, above rises the central column, decorated with acanthus and palm leaf detail, supporting a wide upper bowl in the manner of a classical cyma recta profile, with egg-and-dart rim detail, at the junction of column and bowl, two naturalistic dolphins or mystical marine figures provide a characteristic Georgian aquatic flourish, the finial is a standing figure, a young Atlas or Bacchic putto holding a small torch aloft, this fountain has been installed in a round bluestone coping pond, the fountain 400cm high, 150cm wide, 770kg, the pond 330cm diameter, 50cm high, 2,800kg
