****These books originated from the library of Sir Randle Holme FRGS. He was born July 4, 1864, in Beckenham, Kent, England, the son of Caroline Fynes Clinton and James Wilson Holme. He was educated at Sherborne, going to Corpus Christi where he took a first in law, 1887. He qualified as a solicitor, and in 1891 was called to the bar but is most notable as an explorer, in Brazil and Labrador. He was President of the Law Society 1939-1940 and knighted in 1941. In 1892 he married Evelyn Frances d'Egville, but they had no children and he died Dec. 23, 1957.
