Provenance: Denys George Wells VPRBA, BEM (1881-1973), British Modern artist the base with his typed collector's note: "Head of Krishna/Found at Agroha/sold to me for four anna!/Looks rather Greek to me!"; a later ink manuscript label inscribed, "Bought in India by the artist Denys Wells Circa 1925 [...]."
