Accounting and the Enlightenment in Georgian England - a George IV 3pp ink manuscript ALS, addressed to Robert Sutton [?Junior] Esq., Woodford, Essex, from an indistinctly signed correspondent, the letter encloses a 'List of Editors and Contributors to the Encyclopædia Metropolitana', which includes the scientific and mathematical luminaries William Herschel and Charles Babbage, dated August 31st 1822 (two years following the encyclopædia's revival in 1820, and after Samuel Taylor Coleridge's initial involvement (though his nephew John Taylor Coleridge is listed here as the author of the legal articles)), contemporary postal history franking, (1); a George II ink MS invoice or bill, in the name of Captain Jacob Thompson, dated June 20th 1752, and accounting his purchases, (1), [2]
