Else Fürst (German, 1873-1943), A brown patinated bronze, Snowballing, signed for Martin & Piltzing, Berlin foundry mark, rectangular marble base, 27cm high, c.1910

Else Fürst was born in Leipzig, Germany on June 25th 1873t to physician Livius Fürst. Her sister Helen was a violinist however Else persued sculpture, studying in both Berlin and Paris; she was a pupil of Romantic sculptor Denys Puech. The majority of her work as is this was cast by the foundry Martin Und Piltzing Hoffbildgiesser in Berlin.
