** Joseph Barlow Robinson (1821-1883) was a sculptor of national standing with his workshop on Derwent Street, Derby and home in Uttoxeter New Road there. After a family apprenticeship he worked extensively on the Palace of Westminster, and later locally, notably with architect Henry Isaac Stevens, carrying out country house and church commissions throughout the Midlands and beyond
