.303 Cal MkI Black Powder Cartridge Martini Metford Cavalry Carbine MkIII Serial No. 269. Marked VR Enfield 1897. 515mm long barrel. Overall length 947mm. Working action. Very well marked overall with WD Sold out of service markings, stock marked "BB W.H.PTON". Brass ring to butt with unit marking " "5 1902 RD 3 LF 18". Studs missing from stock for the leather sight protector. No cleaning rod. NOTE: Section 58 (2) No Licence required in the UK.

Very light rust overall. Some rust pitting to end of barrel and fore end piece. Bore is rusted. Stock has been varnished at some point.
