Illuminated Vellum Binding - Supino (Igino Benvenuto) & Scott (Leader, translator; pseud. Baxter (Lucy)), Fra Angelico, Florence: Alinari Brothers, 1902, colour frontispiece, b/w in-text illustrations, contemporary limp vellum, the upper-cover colourfully illuminated and gilt with a historiated initial F enclosing a bust-length profile of the eponymous Dominican friar-artist, probably by the Gianni workshop, yapped edges, complete with ties, top-edge sallow, others untrimmed, 8vo (17.5cm x 13cm), [1]

The binding decoration is probably the work of Giannini family workshop in Florence. It is likely this is by Giulio Giannini (1853-1931), though similar work was carried out by his son Guido (1877-1956) and grandson Giulio Junior (1901-1992).
