A set of three early 19th century to Victorian lady's leather commonplace albums, bearing inscriptions, pictures and some loosely inserted ephemera connected to the Middleton family of Morthen Hall, Whiston, near Rotherham, Yorkshire, including a fairly accomplished pencil sketch of the house by E. St***ng Howard, indistinctly signed, titled and dated 1830, etc., other works including cut paper botanical specimens, pressed and annotated flowers and wild grasses, further studies of flowers in various media, hand-coloured mezzotints, pen and ink caricatures, prints, embossed paper pictures and more named-view topographical pencil sketches, occasional inscriptions in ink MS of verse and prose, ephemera and citations of local environs including Sheffield, etc., varying contemporary red and mauve leather bindings, blind and gilt, 4to to 8vo, [3]
