A rare Steiff (Germany) golden mohair purzelbär/somersaulting or tumbling novelty teddy bear, black boot button eyes, pronounced snout with horizontally brown stitched nose and mouth, elongated straight arms, cream felt pads to hands and feet with brown stitched claws, the torso fitted with mechanism for the tumbling arms, trademark 'STEIFF' button to ear with trailing 'F', 28cm high, c.1909
